Society for Health and Education for the Poor through Economically in Rural Development, Chintalapdu Village, Chandarlapdu Mandal, Krishna Dist. A.P: is a social service voluntary organization, established in 2005, under the provisions of society’s registration act 35 of 2001 with registration No. 426/2005. The organization was formed with the cooperation of the dedicated social workers and enthusiastic service mended groups with a view to helpless rural community through various developmental activities. The birth of SHEPHERD is response indeed an emotional response to the problems of illiteracy, ignorance, ill health, malnutrition, unemployment and inadequate medical and educational facilities that were widely prevalent in two backward mandals of Krishna Dist. Hence, the organization formed with no profit motive and dedicated to solve the indentified problems. The following are the activities look up by our organization since its inception.
01. PRVENTION OF CHILD LABOUR :
This the most important programme taken up by the organization for preventing child labour awareness campaign is the organized from time to time involving the local Leaders and officials. The concerned I.D.C activities are organized in the project areas in order to awaken public, parents, of the children towards the prevention of Child Labour who are indentified in our survey 4000 child laborers and 1500 street children who are in the age group of 8 years. We are also conducted social and legal awareness programme for rural women, agriculture awareness progammes and drinking water awareness for rural women.
02. AIDS AWARENESS PROGRAMME :
SHEPHERD, Chintalapadu, Chandarlapdu Mandal, Krishna Dist. A.P. has conducted AIDS Awareness Camps at Chandarlapdu Mandal and surrounding villages of Krishna Dist. And collected the wall posters and reading material from Dist. Medical and Health Office and distributed the same in our target villages. Our organizers motivated people to take the preventive steps to avid the incurable AIDS. We also conducted Mother and Child Care campaign and motivated them to take necessary measures for their health and values of nutrition food which will available indigenously.
03.ADULT EDUCATIONFOR WOMEN AND MEN :
We have taken much interest in establishing is many center as possible and conducted night classes in villages educated the elders up to read and write. Our main aim is to reduce the illiteracy.
04.CRECHE CENTRE :
SHEPHERD is running the Crèche centre at Chintalapadu Village, Chandarlapadu Mandal, Krishna Dist. A.P for the benefit of work going women children’s providing nutrition, medicines, and nursery education to them morning to evening.
05.VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME :
Our SHEPHERD conducted Vocational Training like Tailoring, and Embroidery, Type and Short Hand, Basket Making, Lacer Making, Painting, Beautician course, Bathic printing and repairing of home appliances and electrical motors., so that they can start their own repaid shops or they can get employment opportunities in public and private for betterment of life.
06.CONSUMER AWARENESS :
The villagers were given suggestions and precautions in purchasing the consumer products in the market regarding expiry date, rate (MRP) packing date etc., and find fault to bring notice of weight and measurements of consumer court.
07.RURAL WATER SANITATION :
Our organization working Rural Water Sanitation Awareness Programme in Chintalapadu and Yeturu Villages of Chandarlapadu Mandal, Krishna Dist. A.P. with financial support from local contribution and donations.
08.INCOME GENERATION PROGRAMME FOR RURAL WOMEN :
SHEPHERD Conducted the Income Generation Programme for Rural Women by providing Training programmes to the rural un-employed women, girls, married women, widowed women who are living the below poverty line.,. After these training programme very can work and get some remuneration to supplementation their budget which avoids migration.
08. MEDICAL AND HEALTH CAMPS :
Medical and Health Camps where conducted mainly for old aged people, child and women general check-up was done medicines was done medicines were distributed for needy person. The mothers were advised on the necessity breast babies and also advised about about the family planning to control the population problem. It is and doubted a success in geometric ratio while the necessities required for these additional population arithmetic ratio.
09. DISABLED WELFARE PROGRAMME :
Our SHEPHERD conducted survey about disabled persons in nearly to 10 mandals and create awareness on Government financial assistance by running their own shops. Training centers and some dedications in the ticket in Road Transport Corporation buses and railways and reservation in jobs. We are also provide note books, slates, text books to the disabled children’s every year and also provided blankets, carpets, clothing to disable persons and three wheel cycles also distributed to support from Disabled Welfare, Krishna, Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
10. NATIONAL INTEGRATION :
Conducted Awareness Camps to promote integration with the help of local officers and gave speeches on National Integration for equality, avoiding untouchability and promote friendly nature among the communities.
11. COMPUTER TRAINING PROGRAMME :
We started computer training programme in our target village of Chintalapadu and giving training in the computer programming and in D.T.P.. and we taught language cobal, basic and in date entry system. So, that they can get job opportunity in and private firms.
12. PULSE POLIO AWARENESS PROGRAMME :
Our social workers encouraged the rural people regarding pulse polio programme conducted by the state government and brought the village children’s to the pulse polio centers for giving polio drops.
13. FREE MEDICAL DISTRIBUTION CAMPS :
SHEPHERD conducted medical camps at Chandarlapadu Mandal and surrounding villages of Krishna Dist ie. Free medical checkup and distribution of medicines to the poor and rural with the financial support from management contribution and collected donations from local people.
14. TAILORING TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR RURAL WOMEN :
These progrmme started only to give training to the rural un employed girls married, women, widowed women who are living in rural areas. After their training these beneficiaries can get work and some remuneration to supplement.
15. SOCIAL FORESTRY PROGRAMME :
We took part of Tree plantation in vacant places and road side of the margin under clean and green programme of state government of Andhra Pradesh . with the cooperation of forest department, Awareness camps were conducted and explained to the villagers the importance of trees and their use in the villages.
16. FORMATION OF SELF HELP GROUPS :
For the equality to the women, we have motivated the women to assembly as group for the establishment of self help groups to save the money from their earning and to benefit schemes for the governments. Our SHEPHERD formed 10 sanghas in our target villages.
17. FAMILY COUNCELLING CENTER PROGRAMME :
A family counseling from a half-decade is being run by us. Most of the people and coming with women harassment and dowry harassment. Number cases have been and divorced couples were united with the efforts taken by the center about Rs. 10000/- was spend on this programme.
18. OUT REACHE PROGRAMME FOR BOTH :

A.P: SETTING UP COUNCELLING/CARREER guidance center for both school going and out school adolescents outreach programme at Chandarlapdu and Nandigama Mandals of Krishna Dist. A.P.
19. DISTRIBUTION OF CONDOMS PROGRAMME :
In these adopted areas there are 1200 sex workers (FSW) and 800 truck drivers who are generally migratory i.e travel from one place to other place with a certain limit of time from their existing places, overall we have adopted 1000 members. Our organization particularly identified them and is going to conducted awareness programme like marketing of condoms to the HIV affected people. We are also implementing programmes like street plays, dramas, burrakatha etc., to being awareness about HIV/AIDS also some members of our society make the people known about usage of condoms.
20. AGRICULTURAL AND WATER LAND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME :
Conducted Agricultural Awareness camps in rural villages and small farmers were given advises about the new method of cultivation to get more yields and arranged trip to agricultural form for practical demonstration for latest methods of cultivation.
21. NON RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL :
Our society running the New Brilliants Upper Primary School English medium and Telugu Medium 200 children’s for the benefit of S.C’s at Chintalapadu, Chandarlapdu Mandal, and also recognized by the A.P. Government and giving free education to qualified teachers. These programme under the control of Society for Health and Education for the Poor through Economically in Rural Development, Chintalapdu.
22. PREVENTION OF ALCOHOLSIM AND SUBSTANCE (DRUG)ABUSE :
Society for Health and Education for the Poor through Economically in Rural Development, Chintalapdu, Chandarlapdu Mandal, Krishna Dist. A.P. to conducted Drug Abuse Center at Chandarlapdu and surrounding villages, identifying the drug abused persons and giving treatment and providing them rehabilitation.
23.DRINKING WATER AWARENESS PROGRAMME :
Drinking water awareness programme were conducted in rural villages and explained how keep the well surroundings clean and also how purify the water for drinking purpose. Our organizers advised to villagers to drink water after boil and cooling which will preventive the break epidemic due to the water pollution.
